Spring forward

Hey Dolls & Gents,

It's that time of year again...beautiful pastels and flowers in bloom! Spring is a reminder that summer is just around the corner!

It's a lazy sunny Sunday for me here in South Florida, so I am catching up on my spring trends!

One trend that has stood out is hair chalking!!

What you need.

pastel chalks (you can find some at Michael's for $5) Make sure the chalk is not oil based!
gloves (it gets a tad bit messy)
A shirt you don't mind getting dirty
Blow dryer
A flat iron or curling iron to lock everything in.

Step 1: put on your gloves
Step 2:Take the piece of hair you would like to "color" and dampen just that piece of hair
Step 3: Chalk away!!!
Step 4: Repeat the above with the pieces of hair you would like colored.
Step 5: Blow dry the hair (or just make sure the hair is completely dry after chalking)
Step 6: Flat Iron or curl your hair as you would like.

Helpful hint: Avoid adding product to your hair, as it could cause the chalk not to fully stay in. Also wearing a shirt similar to the color of the chalk you chose is best, as the chalk has a tendency to rub off.

Also if you have blond hair, you don't need to wet the tips
If you're a red head like me, you can at first try without the water, if the chalk isn't showing up just add a little water.

To avoid the chalk on your clothes, a fishtail braid or ballerina bun is ideal

Once the fun is all over, make sure to brush your hair, and wash with a clarifying shampoo...also a deep conditioner is a must! Try not to chalk too often as the powder pigment can suck up all the natural moisture in your hair.

Also great for spring is the OPI's new Holland Collection! Each bottle is $8.25 at Ulta!

Until next time dolls & gents...

Stay Beautiful,

xo - Lori
